Why can't I see the full text of the article?

Answer

Databases can contain citations and abstracts (a summary of the content of an article) with no full-text article attached. The full-text of the article may not be attached to a citation you found because that particular database does not include that specific journal in its collection. In addition, the full-text of an article may not be available in a database because publishers sometimes place restrictions on online access for newer articles.

However, the full-text of an article that may not appear in one particular database you are searching can appear in another database. Many database will have a Find Full-Text button or check for full-text availability that will allow link to a database that provides access to the article.

You can use a citation you find to determine if the full text of the article is available in another database.

The library maintains a print collection of some journals that our restricted from online viewing. You can search our print collection of journals in the search box on the library's home page to see if we do.
