Do I always use CINAHL database for finding articles to respond with scholarly responses in discussions?
Answer
There are several databases that focus on nursing related research. From the library home page at https://pnw.edu/library you can click on the link for "Databases” then select “Nursing” from the drop-down Subject menu. This will display a list of databases that are good resources for nursing students and faculty.
You are on the right track when you mention CINAHL, since it is a very large resource with lots of user-friendly tools to limit your search. Most nursing students find it to be their #1 database. Medline and Health Source Nursing are also easy to use. As you can guess by the name, Psyc INFO and Psyc Articles are great resources for psychology-related topics.
And JBI and Cochrane Library are useful databases for finding systematic reviews and other research at a high level of evidence. But remember that these two resources publish their own research, instead of collecting articles published by thousands of nursing journals. That means that JBI and Cochrane are much, much smaller collections.
